Volkswagen Launches Jetta M6 as Electric Car in China

Volkswagen has introduced the electric sedan Jetta M6 in the People's Republic of China. The vehicle measures 4.81 meters in length and offers a power output of up to 194 hp. The price for the Jetta M6 ranges from approximately €10,600 to €13,100. The Jetta M6 is produced in collaboration with FAW-Volkswagen, a brand established in 2019 specifically for the Chinese market.

The model is set to launch in mid-October 2026. The electric car will be available in three variants: 465 Pro, 555 Max, and 555 Ultra. The numbers refer to the range determined by the Chinese testing cycle CLTC, with range figures between 465 km and 555 km. The Jetta M6 465 Pro is equipped with a 42.9 kWh battery and reaches a top speed of 166 km/h.

The electric motor has a power output of 113 kW (approximately 152 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. The 555 Max variant features a 51.9 kWh battery, enabling a range of 555 km. This version has a 145 kW (approximately 194 hp) electric motor and offers additional features such as a panoramic sunroof and heated front seats. The top trim level, 555 Ultra, includes the L2 driving assistance system with “Navigate On Autopilot” (NOA), which can be used on both city streets and highways. Additionally, massage seats for the front seats are available in this variant.

The vehicle will be offered in six color options: blue, purple, silver, white, black, and gold. Inside, three color variants are available: gray, white, and purple. The equipment includes a 15.6-inch central display and an 8.88-inch instrument cluster. The Jetta M6 will not be imported to Germany, despite the name “Jetta” being well-known there. The decision to produce the model exclusively for the Chinese market is part of Volkswagen's strategy to focus on the growing demand for electric vehicles in China.

The top speed of the Jetta M6 varies between 166 km/h and 172 km/h, depending on the engine configuration. The different equipment variants offer various technical features tailored to the needs of Chinese customers. Volkswagen plans to increase the production of the Jetta M6 in the coming months to meet the high demand in the Chinese market. The first deliveries are scheduled for late October 2026.
