Volkswagen Launches Jetta M6 as Electric Car in China

Volkswagen has introduced the Jetta M6 in the People's Republic of China, a new electric sedan that will be available from mid-October 2026. The vehicle measures 4.81 meters in length and offers a power output of up to 194 hp. The price for the Jetta M6 ranges from approximately €10,600 to €13,100. The Jetta M6 is produced in collaboration with FAW-Volkswagen, a joint venture between Volkswagen and the Chinese automotive manufacturer FAW. The Jetta brand was established in 2019 specifically for the Chinese market and should not be confused with the classic Jetta sedan from Volkswagen, which has existed since the 1970s.

The electric car will be offered in three variants: 465 Pro, 555 Max, and 555 Ultra. The numbers refer to the range, which was determined according to the Chinese testing cycle CLTC. The range figures are between 465 km and 555 km. The Jetta M6 465 Pro is equipped with a 42.9 kWh battery and reaches a top speed of 166 km/h. The electric motor has a power output of 113 kW (approximately 152 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

Features include intelligent cruise control and an automatic parking assistant. The 555 Max variant offers a 51.9 kWh battery and a range of 555 km. The electric motor has a power output of 145 kW (approximately 194 hp). Additional features include a panoramic sunroof and heated and ventilated front seats. The top equipment variant, 555 Ultra, features an L2 driving assistance system with "Navigate On Autopilot" (NOA), which can be used on both city streets and highways.

This version also offers massage seats for the front seats. The design of the Jetta M6 adheres to the classic sedan shape and is available in six color variants: Blue, Purple, Silver, White, Black, and Gold. The interior offers three color options: Gray, White, and Purple. The top speed varies depending on the motorization between 166 km/h and 172 km/h.

The vehicle is equipped with a 15.6-inch central display and an 8.88-inch instrument cluster, complemented by physical controls. The Jetta M6 will not be offered in the German market, despite the recognition of the name "Jetta" in Germany. Volkswagen is focusing solely on the Chinese market with this model. The market launch of the Jetta M6 is planned for mid-October 2026, with the first vehicles expected to be delivered in the coming weeks.
