Telekom Increases Data Volume in MagentaMobil Plans
Deutsche Telekom has announced that starting June 1, 2026, it will increase the monthly data volume in its MagentaMobil Data plans. The prices for these plans will remain unchanged. This applies to both new customers and existing customers, who will automatically benefit from the increase. The MagentaMobil Data S plan will now offer 10 GB for €14.95 per month, instead of the previous 5 GB.
The MagentaMobil Data M plan will include 40 GB for €19.95 starting June 1, while the MagentaMobil Data L plan will offer 80 GB for €29.95, representing an increase of 25 GB. The upgrade in data volume will occur automatically for all existing customers, who will not need to take any additional steps. Telekom emphasizes that the new volumes are suitable for mobile devices, tablets, and laptops, as these are pure data plans. All MagentaMobil Data plans provide access to the 5G network, with theoretical download speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbit/s.
After the monthly data volume is consumed, speeds will be throttled to 64 Kbit/s downstream and 16 Kbit/s upstream. The plans can be booked with a 24-month contract or in a flexible variant without a minimum term. For the 24-month contracts, there is an option to finance suitable devices through an installment purchase. Customers who combine a device with a plan will receive a one-time device discount of €50 for MagentaMobil M and €100 for MagentaMobil L. Additionally, customers with a fixed-line connection at Telekom will benefit from 1 GB of data volume and a flat rate for calls from the fixed network to all German mobile networks.
This advantage is referred to as the “MagentaEINS Advantage.” For new customers who sign up for a MagentaMobil M or L plan by June 8, 2026, there is a special promotion: they will receive unlimited data volume for 24 months as well as €240 cashback. Telekom highlights that the plans are particularly suitable for users who are frequently on the go and rely on mobile surfing and streaming. The new plans aim to meet the increasing demands for data volume and speed.
In recent years, Telekom has continuously invested in expanding its 5G network to ensure comprehensive coverage. Currently, over 90% of the population in Germany is covered by 5G. The new plans will be available starting June 1, 2026, and Telekom expects that the changes will be positively received by customers.
