New Windows 11 Features Coming in July 2026

Microsoft has announced that five new features for Windows 11 will be released in July 2026. These innovations aim to enhance the user experience and simplify system management. The U.S. IT news site Windowslatest has published details about these features. One of the most significant updates is the ability to pause Windows updates using a new calendar view. Users can now schedule the pausing of updates for a period of up to 35 days in advance.

This feature allows for flexible adjustment of the end date of the pause, providing improved control over the update process. Additionally, the "Point-in-Time Restore" (PITR) feature will be introduced. This recovery option automatically creates restore points for the entire system, including all installed applications and personal files. Unlike the previous system restore, PITR can also restore local files and applications. The restore points will be stored for up to 72 hours, allowing for a quick return to a stable system state.

Another feature aimed at increasing user-friendliness is the new "Screen Tint" function. This allows users to choose from various colors and overlay them as a full-screen color filter over the desktop. This feature is designed to reduce eye strain and offers individual customization of color intensity, unlike the existing "Night Light," which only adjusts color temperature. The stability of Bluetooth connections will also be improved. Users of Bluetooth headsets, such as AirPods and Beats Studio Pro, can benefit from faster pairing times and a more reliable microphone function.

Moreover, Bluetooth LE audio streaming will be optimized, allowing connections to be restored more quickly after a drop and enabling audio playback to start more swiftly, even when the microphone is in use. Another update concerns the widgets in the taskbar. These will no longer be displayed immediately after a mouse-over, which aims to reduce distractions. The notification icons in the taskbar will also be adjusted by minimizing the number of displayed notifications. Additionally, the colors of the icons will be adapted to the Windows accent color, enhancing visual consistency.

All of the aforementioned features will be available to all Windows 11 users. Microsoft has already begun testing the new features to ensure a smooth implementation.
