Audi Unveils the Nuvolari with 1001 HP

Audi has introduced the Nuvolari, a new flagship model that boasts a maximum system output of 736 kW (1,001 HP). This model is described as the fastest and most powerful production vehicle from the brand, surpassing the previous R8 in performance. The Nuvolari is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that delivers 588 kW (800 HP), along with three axial-flow electric motors, each providing 110 kW. The vehicle's lithium-ion battery has a gross capacity of 7.3 kWh. The combustion engine generates a maximum torque of 730 Nm and reaches speeds of up to 10,000 RPM.

At the front axle, two oil-cooled electric motors with a torque of up to 2,150 Nm support the variable power distribution of the new quattro drive. The Audi Nuvolari accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The new quattro drive continuously processes sensor data that provides information on acceleration, steering angle, yaw rate, and grip level. This enables predictive control that intervenes in the event of impending grip loss in curves. The braking system of the Nuvolari consists of ten-piston fixed calipers with 420 × 40 millimeter brake discs at the front axle and four-piston calipers with 410 × 32 millimeter discs at the rear axle.

This powerful braking system ensures optimal deceleration and control of the vehicle. The design of the Nuvolari marks the beginning of a new design language for Audi. The manufacturer emphasizes clearer lines and fewer design elements, resulting in a more monolithic expression. The name of the vehicle is a tribute to racing legend Tazio Nuvolari, underscoring the model's sporting ambitions. Production of the Audi Nuvolari is limited to 499 units.

The first deliveries are planned for the first half of 2027. Audi has not yet announced a price for the vehicle; however, due to the limited quantity and high performance, a high price is expected. Technical innovations of the Nuvolari include active aerodynamics and a new system called quattro predictive ride. These technologies are intended to further enhance the vehicle's driving dynamics and handling, making it a technological pioneer in the Audi lineup. With a top speed of over 350 km/h and a combination of combustion and electric motors, the Audi Nuvolari sets new standards in the high-performance vehicle segment.

With this model, Audi aims to optimize not only performance but also efficiency and driving behavior. The combination of a powerful combustion engine and multiple electric motors demonstrates Audi's commitment to innovative drive technologies. The Nuvolari could thus serve as a precursor for future models from the brand that will integrate similar technologies. The first test drives of the Audi Nuvolari are already in planning to evaluate performance and new technologies under real-world conditions. Audi expects that the vehicle will impress not only on the road but also on the racetrack. The official presentation of the Audi Nuvolari took place on June 6, 2026, marking the beginning of a new era for the brand.
