Hyundai Staria Electric with Extended Range

Hyundai has officially set the WLTP range of the new Staria Electric at 430 kilometers. Initially, a range of up to 400 kilometers was stated at its unveiling in January. The increase in range could appeal to potential buyers looking for an electric vehicle with greater distance capabilities. The vehicle is powered by a 218-horsepower electric motor that drives the front wheels. The battery has a capacity of 84 kWh, contributing to the improved range.

Hyundai has also integrated an 800-volt system that allows for fast charging. This enables the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes. In Germany, the order books for the Staria Electric are now open. The entry-level version, the nine-seater Staria Electric Trend, is being offered, with prices starting at €57,450.

In addition to the base version, more expensive variants are available, including the top model “Calligraphy,” which features seven seats and two larger chairs in the second row. Despite the nine seats, the vehicle offers a generous cargo space of 1,303 liters behind the third row of seats. This capacity makes the Staria Electric a practical choice for families or groups needing ample space. Additionally, the vehicle can tow a load of up to two tons, providing extra flexibility. Hyundai has also tailored the Staria Electric to meet the needs of environmentally conscious drivers.

The increased range and the ability to quickly charge the vehicle could help boost the acceptance of electric vehicles. The Staria Electric could thus represent an attractive option for commuters and travelers. The market launch of the Staria Electric occurs in an increasingly competitive electric vehicle market. Manufacturers like Tesla and Volkswagen have already released models with similar ranges and features. Hyundai positions the Staria Electric as a serious competitor in this segment.

The first deliveries of the Staria Electric are planned for the coming months. Hyundai has announced that production has already begun to meet demand. However, the exact number of vehicles produced has not been disclosed. With the introduction of the Staria Electric, Hyundai is focusing on a combination of functionality and sustainability. The ability to quickly charge the vehicle could be a decisive factor for many buyers.

The demand for electric vehicles is steadily growing, and Hyundai aims to benefit from this trend. The official presentation of the Staria Electric took place in January 2026, and the first test drives have already been conducted. Tester reactions have been predominantly positive, particularly regarding the range and charging times. Hyundai plans to increase sales figures throughout the year.

The introduction of the Staria Electric could also impact the infrastructure for electric vehicles. With the rising number of electric vehicles, a greater need for fast charging stations is expected. Hyundai has announced plans to partner with various providers to improve the charging infrastructure. The official WLTP range of 430 kilometers has been confirmed by Hyundai and could influence the purchasing decisions of many potential customers.
