Audi A2 e-tron: New Electric Car with High Range

Audi has unveiled the new A2 e-tron, a compact electric car that boasts a maximum range of 646 kilometers per charge. The A2 e-tron is part of the return of the A2 name and sets new standards in efficiency. According to WLTP, the most economical version has a consumption of 12.8 kWh/100 km, making it the most energy-efficient Audi model. The vehicle is offered in four power levels, ranging from 125 kW (170 hp) to 240 kW (326 hp). The strongest variant reaches a top speed of 200 km/h, while the other models are limited to a maximum of 160 km/h.

The A2 e-tron utilizes a rear-driven, permanently magnetized synchronous motor. Three different battery options are available for energy supply: 52 kWh, 61 kWh, and 84 kWh. The largest battery, equipped with an NMC cell, can be fast-charged at up to 183 kW and reaches a charge from 10 to 80 percent in 29 minutes. The smaller batteries support fast charging capacities of 100 kW and 105 kW, with charging times of 24 and 25 minutes, respectively. A standout feature of the A2 e-tron is its bidirectional charging capability.

With V2L (Vehicle-to-load), devices such as tools or e-bikes can be powered through the vehicle's battery. The V2H (Vehicle-to-home) function allows the vehicle to be used as an energy storage system for the household, although it will initially be available only in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Despite its compact design, the A2 e-tron offers ample space. The wheelbase measures 2.77 meters, and the trunk has a volume of 396 liters, which can be expanded to 1,336 liters with the rear seats folded down. The more powerful models also feature a small front trunk with a capacity of 13 liters.

Inside the A2 e-tron, there is an 11.9-inch digital driver display and a curved 12.8-inch touchscreen. The Audi assistant is equipped with AI features and allows for the integration of Microsoft Outlook and Teams. A wireless Qi 2.2 charging function with up to 25 watts is available for two smartphones. Production of the A2 e-tron takes place in Ingolstadt. Orders will be possible starting in September 2026, with the first deliveries planned for December 2026. Prices start at €38,200 for the base model, while the top engine variant will cost at least €51,200.
