Audi A3 2026: Plug-in Hybrid with 143 km Range
Audi has extensively revised the A3 series, which includes the Sportback, sedan, and crossover model Allstreet. The most significant innovation concerns the plug-in hybrid A3 e-hybrid, which can now drive up to 143 kilometers purely electric according to WLTP standards. This range allows many drivers to manage their daily commutes almost exclusively on electric power. The new battery of the A3 e-hybrid has been enlarged, and the technology has been modernized. Audi has also improved the charging options, enabling the battery to be quickly charged with direct current.
A full charge is expected to take about 30 minutes, significantly facilitating the vehicle's everyday use. In addition to the improved range, the towing capacity of the A3 e-hybrid has been increased to 1,700 kilograms, representing a 300-kilogram increase compared to the previous model. This adjustment makes the vehicle more versatile and attractive for users who also want to tow trailers. The interior of the new A3 models has also been upgraded. All variants are now equipped with a new curved display solution that combines an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch touchscreen.
This modern arrangement significantly enhances usability and the driving experience. The center console has been redesigned and now offers the ability to wirelessly charge mobile phones with up to 25 watts. This feature is particularly convenient for users who are frequently on the go and want to quickly recharge their devices. Technically, Audi is introducing several new driver assistance systems. The adaptive cruise control now supports both steering and braking and can automatically query traffic lights in certain situations.
These features enhance safety and comfort while driving. The parking system of the new A3 models has also been improved. It now allows for remote parking via smartphone and can learn recurring parking maneuvers. These innovations make parking in urban areas easier and less stressful. The sportier S3 and RS 3 models receive new light signatures and revised design details that emphasize the sporty appearance of the vehicles.
The remaining models in the series will continue to be offered with gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrid drivetrains. The revised A3 models will be available in Europe starting mid-September 2026. In Germany, prices for the A3 Sportback start at €31,850, while the plug-in hybrid A3 e-hybrid will be offered from €45,350. For the more powerful S3 and RS 3 models, the starting prices are €57,200 and €68,500, respectively.
