GTA 6: Release Date and Preload Details Announced

Rockstar Games has announced the official release date for the highly anticipated game Grand Theft Auto VI. The game will be released on November 19, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. In Germany, the game will unlock at midnight local time, meaning players can dive into the world of Vice City from that moment. For players who have digitally pre-ordered the game, the preload will begin at midnight local time on the PS5 on November 10, 2026.

For the Xbox Series X/S, the preload will start at 0:00 GMT, which corresponds to 1:00 AM in Germany. To utilize the preload, consoles must be in rest mode or turned on, and automatic downloads must be enabled. The download size for GTA 6 is expected to require up to 212 GB of free storage space. Rockstar notes that the final size may vary depending on the console.

Players should therefore ensure that sufficient storage space is available before starting the preload. A classic disc version of GTA 6 is not planned. Instead, a physical edition will be offered as a code-in-box. Inside the packaging, there will be a download code to download the game. This version will be available starting November 12, 2026.

GTA 6 will be released in two editions: the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition. The latter includes an upgrade pack with additional content such as vehicles, weapons, and clothing. The Standard Edition will be priced at €79.99, while the Ultimate Edition will cost €99.99. The Ultimate version is currently only available in the PlayStation Online Store and the Xbox Store.

Additionally, there will be a strictly limited Collector’s Edition available for €399.99. This edition includes physical goodies such as a figurine, Oakley sunglasses, a fanny pack, a cap, and a mirror, but no game. A release date for this edition is still pending, and it can only be pre-ordered directly from Rockstar. Although a PC version of GTA 6 has not yet been officially announced, there are indications that it is in the works. Recent speculation suggests that the PC version may be released in the first quarter of 2027.

However, details have not yet been confirmed. The preload for GTA 6 will start nine days before the official release. Players should prepare their consoles in advance and ensure they have the necessary storage space to play the game right at launch. Rockstar Games has already announced that the anticipation for the game is enormous, and many fans are eagerly awaiting the release.

Rockstar Games has broken records in the past with the Grand Theft Auto series. Expectations for GTA 6 are correspondingly high, and the community is excited about the new features and the game world that Vice City will offer. The official announcement of the release date and preload details was published on November 5, 2026.
